Future Out-Of-State Tournament Schedule (FALL SEASON ONLY)
Check out the "Tourney" Page for a list of out-of-state tournaments.
Contact us when you are contemplating or confirmed a particular date and location. We can list it on the schedule to aid other coaches in their decisions.
This can prevent a team traveling 200 miles only to find out they are playing another Niles Ranger team (unless you want to play another Niles team).

Fellow Ranger Families,

During the Fall 2010-2011 season, the Rangers' coaches got together
and formed the Rangers' Coaches Club. The club consisted of USA Hockey
certified and sanctioned coaches who were appointed and approved by the
Niles Hockey Director, Marty Stankowicz. In addition to focusing on the
development of the Niles Youth Hockey players, the Coaches Club also
strived to find ways to improve upon the youth hockey experience.

In order to help strengthen these philosophies, the Rangers Coaches
Club partnered with the Blackhawks Youth Hockey Organization. Some of
the amenities provided through our partnership included:

- Two Junior Hawks events, through which all Rangers Gold Mite and
Squirt players were given an opportunity to play a game on the United
Center ice.

- Squirt Level Skill sessions run by Dennis Savard at Niles Iceland

- The opportunity for our parents to purchase tickets to sold out
Blackhawks home games

- Signed Blackhawk memorabilia, including a jersey autographed by the
entire team, that was available for auction at our coaches game.

On February 17th, 2011, with the assistance of the RPO (Rangers Parent
Organization) and the Niles Park District, the Coaches Club organized a
charity hockey game between Niles Finest (NPD & NFD) and the Rangers'
Coaches. During that evening, weeks of planning by Ranger families came
together in spectacular fashion. Each Ranger team produced a gift basket
that was auctioned off, many individuals generously donated items to add
to the mix, and countless individuals donated their time to help make
the evening successful. The memorabilia provided by the Blackhawks was
also represented within the auction. The Amateur Hockey Association of
Illinois (AHAI), along with Hornets Sled Hockey Coach Jim Smith,
donated the referees for the nights event and the Niles
Police and Fire Departments were also extremely generous, as they
insisted that all proceeds should be directed towards the Ranger Hockey
players.
When all was said and done, the proceeds raised from the event were
put to use in the following manner:

- The Gate Proceeds and the house portion of the 50/50 raffle ( a
total of $650 ) were donated to the Hornets Sled Hockey Organization,
which is a team of disabled youth hockey players sponsored by AHAI.
- An abbreviated Turcotte Stick Handling Clinic will be made available
as part of the 2011-2012 Rangers Hockey Package. Details of the sessions
will be available shortly, but it is our intent that every Ranger be
given an opportunity to partake in one of Sylvain Turcotte's renowned
Stick Handling Clinics at some point between Monday August 22nd and
Thursday August 25th.

The fall season is sneakily approaching, and before we know it the
rink will become our second home. The Rangers' Coaches look forward to
providing each and every Ranger with the opportunity to play the
greatest game in the world in a challenging, family like atmosphere
where the focus is on skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and ultimately
learning life lessons.

Best of luck on the fall season to all !!!

- The Ranger Coaches
